debontheweb.jpg

For ten years, readers of the Southport Visiter and Formby Times followed the ups and downs of family life in the Atkinson household in Deb’s Diary. Now Debbie has reached a new stage in her life – her three children have flown the nest and her husband has retired. In Deb on the Web she will be talking about some of the interesting places, both near and far, that she has found on her “retirement travels and she’d love you to leave feedback (good or bad) on places you’ve visited.

FOOD AT THE SARACENS HEAD

Posted by Debbie Atkinson on April 13, 2008 12:13 PM |

I did say that I'd return to the beautifully-refurbished Saracen's Head for something to eat - true to my word (as ever!) we went and had lunch there last week. My soup was piping hot and served with warm bread and my husband's tasty sandwich was served with what seemed like home-made chips. A couple of people checked to make sure we were happy with the food - so top marks. The order-taking seemed a bit hap hazard but it's still early days.

You might spot our daughter on - or rather in - the Marine Lake, if you wander past. She's taken up sailing and at the moment is on a four day training course. Within the first hour of day one she was in the freezing water - it hasn't put her off and she's back today for more!
